Alwyn Evans – Session Player

Alwyn Evans is a Northern Ireland based drummer/percussionist with over 25 years’ experience in the local music industry. Currently playing on the busy wedding/corporate circuit with high energy performers Picture the Sound, and, recording and performing with original act Stripped, he and other members have created over 10 album releases in the last 20 years and continue to write and release music culminating in the ‘Welcome to the carnival’ album which is a collection of their best songs over that time.  

 Like most kids he started with a borrowed drum kit in the garage at home and gradually moved into local bands, playing with The Bedhangers for several years and performing all over the island of Ireland. Marriage and children came along before he returned to his passion which is performing and recording music.

His style would be described as powerful and steady with lots of dynamics, locked in with the bass player where he believes every rhythm section should be. His main influences are Max Weinberg from the E Street band and Steve Gorman who performs with The Black Crowes, both of whom were major influences when starting out learning the drums.

Currently, he is involved with various bands and solo artists, working in the local wedding/corporate circuit, writing new music and recording with Stripped and playing acoustic 2- and 3-piece intimate gigs in local venues.
