Job Title: Workshop Joiner and Spray Booth Operator

Hours: Full-time. 38 hours. Monday-Thursday.

Reports to: Company Director

Location: Ruach Music Ltd, 10 Nicholsons Road, Kilkeel, Co.Down, BT34 4JN.

 

Short Description:

The position will involve working within our production team at Ruach Music, utilizing fixed woodworking machinery and handheld power tools to craft our musical instruments and accessories. This unique opportunity will enable the successful candidate to be trained to take rough-sawn timber in the workshop, crafting it right through to the finished product.

The job will include but will not be limited to tasks such as cross-cutting timber, planing, CNC operation, sanding and quality-checking wooden parts in the Ruach workshop to a standard ready-for-spray finish to be applied. This will involve operating certain machines and tooling in the workshop and forming part of the workshop production team. The successful candidate will also be involved in the operation of the spray booth, taking these parts, applying the appropriate finish, quality checking once more, and assembling them before handing them over to our packaging department, where final checks will take place and the products packaged ready for the warehouse.

A key part of the day-to-day activities will involve meeting as a production team first thing in the morning to discuss the day’s activities to prioritise tasks, and review any areas where we see development required. The job will be both workshop-based and spray booth based, providing various activities to fulfil any given day. 

Experience is preferred but not a necessity, as full training will be given internally. This is a role that would suit a variety of different people with ranging experience.

Feeling comfortable working within a team environment whilst taking responsibility for your department is key.

The operator will ensure the safe keeping and cleanliness of their department and workspace, ensuring a healthy and safe environment to work in.

Key Responsibilities

-Forming part of our workshop production team, ensuring high-quality woodworking at each stage

-You will be responsible for the inspection of all parts and products throughout each sanding, preparation, spraying and assembly process to ensure any imperfections are identified and dealt with as early as possible

-Handling products and parts with care

-Spraying each part with even coats of appropriate finish ensuring a premium finish is achieved every time

-Ensuring that working areas are clean and tidy at all times

 

Key skills:

-You must be able to problem solve as well as work under pressure to tight deadlines.

-Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures.

-Solid judgment with the ability to make good decisions.

-Strong leadership capabilities.

-Ability to work independently and as a team on-site.

-Ability to operate woodworking machinery and spray equipment safely.
